BritPlayRadar · Privacy information
Cookie policy
Effective date:
This policy explains how BritPlayRadar uses browser storage on britplayradar.com, what we remember when you make a privacy choice, and how you can change that choice. It applies to this website; websites you visit through our editorial links have their own storage practices and privacy notices.
We currently use only first-party preference storage to remember your consent decision. No optional analytics or advertising cookies are currently used. You can read our guides and comparisons whether you accept or reject optional cookies.
1. Cookies and similar storage
A cookie is a small piece of text saved by your browser for a website. The browser can send it back with later requests to that website. Local storage also saves information on your device, but it stays in your browser rather than being attached automatically to requests. Both can remember a choice between visits.
Our consent preference records your selection and the time you made it. This necessary preference storage lets the website recognise your decision instead of asking on every page. It is different from optional storage used to measure browsing behaviour, personalise advertising or track visits across websites. The presence of an acceptance button does not mean those optional tools are active.
2. Storage inventory
The same preference name is used in two storage locations. Both are first-party entries provided by britplayradar.com, rather than by an advertising or analytics supplier. The table distinguishes their browser lifetimes from the period for which the website treats your choice as current.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Category | Duration | Storage type |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| britplayradar.com.cookie-consent.v1 | britplayradar.com (first party) | Remember your consent choice and its timestamp | Necessary preference storage | Until cleared by you or site code; the application renews consent after 183 days | localStorage |
| britplayradar.com.cookie-consent.v1 | britplayradar.com (first party) | Remember your consent choice and its timestamp | Necessary preference storage | 31,536,000 seconds (one year); the application renews consent after 183 days | Cookie |
The cookie’s one-year lifetime is a browser expiry setting, not a promise that your consent remains valid for a year. The website checks the saved timestamp and asks for a fresh choice after approximately six months. Local storage has no automatic browser expiry; clearing site data removes it.
3. Choosing and changing preferences
The privacy panel offers equally prominent “Accept optional cookies” and “Reject optional cookies” buttons. Necessary preference storage remains enabled to remember either decision. “Manage preferences” explains the available settings; optional categories are only offered when they are actually implemented.
To review or withdraw a choice, use Cookie settings in the footer of any page. Open the preferences, review the available options and save your selection, or use the acceptance or rejection controls. You do not need to contact us to reopen the panel. A choice applies to the browser and device where you make it, so another browser may ask separately.
No optional processing takes place before consent. If we introduce a new optional purpose, we will explain it and request a fresh decision before enabling it. Withdrawing consent affects future consent-based activity; it does not change the lawfulness of activity before withdrawal.
4. Browser controls
You can also manage storage through your browser. Menu names vary, but the following approach usually helps:
- Open the browser’s privacy or security settings and find cookies, site data or website permissions.
- Search for britplayradar.com and remove its cookies and local storage to reset the remembered choice.
- Review blocking options if you want to prevent future storage, then reload the website.
Deleting only cookies may leave the local storage copy in place. Remove both types of site data for a complete reset. Private browsing usually keeps storage separate from ordinary browsing and may remove it when the private session closes; check your browser’s own explanation. If storage is blocked or unavailable, our editorial content remains readable, but your preference may not persist and the panel may appear again. We do not treat unavailable storage as optional consent.
5. Policy updates
This policy takes effect on 16 October 2026. We will revise the inventory when the website’s storage changes and update the effective date when we publish a revised policy. Material changes to optional purposes require a new consent request; continuing to browse is not a substitute for that decision. You can revisit this page whenever you want to check the current storage description.
